Weddings in Pakistan
Weddings are events which reflect cultures and we can perceive predict cultures by weddings. Rich cultures always have strong bonding between people and have such moral values which can�t be found everywhere. Typically when we talk about wedding in Pakistan then these reflect Pakistan�s rich cultures.
Pakistani wedding is being affected by its neighboring country India and I can say both countries have very close resemblance except some religious ceremonies. Wedding in Pakistan consist of Four consecutive days although preparation starts a month before the very 1st day of fourth day.
A month before wedding �Dholak Party� starts which is being held every night on both sides (Bride and Groom). Relatives and friends get together daily and sing cultural songs. Then �Mehandi� starts on very 1st day of wedding. The groom�s relatives are invited by the bride�s parents. You can say it a combine �Dholak party� and on this occasions groom�s relatives sing typical songs for bride and bride�s relatives. Next day groom�s parents invite bride�s relative and same event held as yesterday. There are special �yellow dresses� for bride and groom on both days. Next day is the main event of wedding and actual marriage occurred according to religious ways. This day is being called �Barat Day�. Next day is �walima� when all combined relatives are invited for lunch or supper by Groom�s parents. This event is held in happiness of bride and groom.
